Operational Lease
Maintenance with operational lease: tyres and service
Updated

A key advantage of business leasing is that regular maintenance and repairs are included in the agreement. This gives you a fixed monthly amount without unexpected garage costs. However, you must adhere to the manufacturer's prescribed maintenance schedule.
Regular maintenance and repairs
During the contract term, the car must be taken to the garage on time for a service or MOT (APK in Dutch). All necessary work and the replacement of worn parts are reimbursed by the leasing company. This is a standard component of business operational lease.
How does the tyre service work?
Tyres wear out as more kilometres are driven. As soon as the tread depth falls below the statutory or contractual norm, the tyres will be replaced at the leasing company's expense by an affiliated tyre specialist.
- Regularly check tyre pressure for optimal fuel consumption.
- Schedule an appointment in good time for any seasonal tyre change.
- Only use service partners designated by the leasing company.
Replacement transport during maintenance, how does that work?
Generally, a distinction is made between the duration of the replacement transport and the type of vehicle offered. Some agreements offer this from the first day, while others only make a replacement car available after a certain repair duration. The costs for this are usually included in the lease rate, but there may be exceptions, for example, when choosing a more luxurious model than the standard replacement car. Always check the exact details in your contract or contact your leasing company for clarification.
Damage to the leased car, what to do?
The handling of damage, including any excess payments, is laid down in your lease contract. In most cases, the leased car is comprehensively insured, meaning that both damage to third parties and damage to the leased car itself are covered. However, an excess may apply per claim. It is important to know how high this excess is and when it applies. Document the damage thoroughly with photos and relevant information to ensure smooth processing and avoid potential disputes.
- Report damage directly to your leasing company.
- Completely fill out the damage form.
- Take clear photos of the damage.
- Consult with your leasing company about the repair location.
